Truffle hunting tour with lunch and visit to Motovun
Tastes differ, many would say; but chefs around the world agree on one thing – the truffle is the peak of gastronomy. This odd mushroom, hidden underground, with no plant above ground, is much appreciated and very hard to find. Only a specially trained dog can sniff it out. Truffles grow in gray soil, so the main area in Istria is around Motovun forest in the valley of the Mirna river. Exactly here we will search for the majestic truffle, accompanied by a truffler and his specially trained dogs.
During the two-hour walk in the woods the truffler will tell us all the details and secrets of truffles. Enjoy charming symphony of flavours in a specialty made from this mysterious fungus together with exquisite wines and olive oil in a relaxed and peaceful environment.

Itinerary
Today we are going to meet with truffler and his dogs. Culinary agree only on one thing – truffle in gastronomy is on top level. Unusual underground hidden bulb, with no plant above ground is very difficult to find. Only, a well trained dog can sniff them. Truffles grow in grey soil, in woody humid area of Motovun/Buzet in the valley Mirna. Exactly that is where we go with a truffler and with his well dressed dogs seeking his majesty –truffle. During our 1 hour walk through the forest truffler will tell us all the secrets and particulars about truffles. After that hour host (truffler) will prepare light lunch with truffles and local wine. After dlicious lunch you will return to your hotel.
