Consideration before booking

  • Which tour types you offer?

    We offer self guided, semi guided and guided tours.

    Self guided trips: you can choose your start date, we book lodging in requested category, transfer your luggage from hotel to hotel, provide digital roadbook and maps (printed roadbook on previous request) and Fiore App for offline navigation with voice guidance and information about the POI’s. Advangage of self guided tours: You leave every morning when you wish, excited by walking on your own, choose the pace you want, enjoy exploring towns and villages without rushing.

    Guided tour: you have to leave in the morning at the certain time, respect the daily group activities (tastings, meals, activities, visits), you will have a guide who will share insight at each destination, support van in case you get tired.

  • When is the best time of year for walking?

    Spring in Croatia is sublime and April, May and June are absolutely lovely. Autumn is probably best time of year as the landscape is made up of a gold and red pallet so September and October are unmissable. July and August can be hot so you will have to start early to miss the heat of the day, although the towns and villages are busier with many seasonal festivals on which is great.

  • How about difficulty of the tours?

    We offer a variety of activity grades to help you select the right level of activity. Always be honest with yourself about your abilities, and always do some training before the trip. We recommend taking walks that are similar in duration to what you’ll be doing on your trip.

  • Can we shorten the walks?

    If you have one day on your trip that looks far too long, you can inquire about taking a lift to closer start point with luggage transfer free of charge. If you’re booking a last-minute taxi because you’re too tired to complete a section, this would be on you to pay. You can always call us and we will help you in organising a taxi but this would be on you to pay.

  • Do you have departures dates for the self guided trips or can I start any time?

    Self guided tours can start any day you prefer from April to November. Some self guided trips are also available in March and November.

  • We would like a customised tour?

    We can customise the tour for you. We can add extra days for relax or add extra activity where additional cost may apply.

  • What is the accommodation going to be like?

    You can choose between two categories: classic 3* and premium 4*.For the classic tour you’ll mainly stay in small, locally-run, guesthouses and 3 or 4 star hotels, which reflect the character of the area. If you choose a premium tour you will be staying at 4* boutique style hotels. Detailed information about lodging you can find on our web page and in our PDF brochure. On some tours we offer also luxury option which includes 5* hotels or a mix of upscale 4* and 5* hotels.

  • What is your single supplement? And what about solo traveler?

    Single room supplements are available in nearly every tour. This is an extra charge over the quoted double room rate which is a shared rate. Note we count a single supplement differently than a solo supplement.  Single supplement is single room use when traveling with others whereas solo supplement applies when only 1 person is on a departure.

    All our self guided trips are available for solo travelers, you can check the supplement on our website (under non-included service) or simply e-mail us and ask for the total solo traveler cost.

  • All lodging on the tour includes breakfasts, what about lunches and dinners?

    All lodging includes breakfasts. Most of the hotels have restaurants with local food. Some of them require reservation. Before the trip you will receive a pre-trip document with restaurant recommendation. Information about the lunch stops and restaurants you can find in the Fiore App as well.

  • Can I arrive before tour start or leave later?

    If you wish to arrive before the tour starts or prolong your holiday, you can send a request for additional nights.

  • What is included in the cost of the trip?

    Our self guided tours include hotels with breakfasts, luggage transfers, roadbook in digital

    form, Fiore APP for offline navigation. Printed roadbook is available only on previous request.

    Our guided trips include also a hiking guide, local transfers where neded and may include some meals, local experiences and activities.

    As inclusion may vary by tour package please check all details for each tour on our web page.

Booking

  • How far in advance do I need to book?

    We suggest you book as soon as your plans are finalized. Croatia is extremely popular especially during July/August/September and holidays.

  • How does the booking process work?

    Send booking form including following details: choose your hotel category (classic 3*/premium 4*/luxury5*) and type of room (double/twin/single), participants full names.

    We book the accommodation and other key elements

    Once we receive confirmation from all hotels we send booking cofirmation (including list of booked hotels and other services with related prices) contract of travel arrangement and a payment request for a deposit payment

    Once we recieve deposit or full payment (if the trip starts in four weeks) and signed contract, your travel arrangement is confirmed

    The full payment is due 4 weeks before the tour date. If the payment is not received at the specified time, unless previously arranged with us in writing, we reserve the right to cancel the booking.

    At lest one month before the tour starts, we send the log in and instruction to download the Fiore APP, pre-trip information and a country guide.

  • How do I pay?

    The easiest way is to click on the link provided in our confirmation e-mail. We do accept payment by credit or debit card, Visa/MasterCard/Diners. We can also take payment via bank transfer.

  • Do you offer any discount for groups?

    Yes for groups we can agree discount. The percentage depends on the size of the group. Send us your enquiry and we will send you our best offer.

  • Can I change dates?

    You can change the dates of your trip up to 4 weeks before the trip start date. This change is based on availability in hotels and may increase the cost ot your total trips cost. An amendment fee will apply on the total trip cost.

Preparation for the tour

  • How do I get to the start of my trip?

    Fiore tours doesn’t organize flight but we suggest to use Skyscanner as a good resourse to find suitable and convenient flights and rome2rio for a public transportation

    Fiore tours can organize privat transfer service from airports, train or bus stations to the tour start location.. Where public transport is limited we suggest to contact us to arrange a private transfer.

  • Do you organise transfers from/to the airport or other location?

    We can organise private transfer service from any location to your start location and from your end location to your next destination. Prices from different location you can find in our PDF brochure or ask us for the price.

  • What kind of assistance provides Fiore tours during your tour?

    From arrival day, with first contact with our representative on welcome meeting trough all days on tour you will have full assistance from Fiore tours staff. All neccesary phone numbers you will have in all trip coments and Fiore APP. You can contact as by phone : you can call office, you can call us on our emergency mobile phone, you can send us E-mail or send us text message using Viber or WhatsApp.

  • Do your provide an APP for easier navigation or a GPS device?

    We have developed our APP, Roadbook for Discovery, to easily follow your routes and keep your trip in one spot. You will receive an email indicating that your trip is available on the AppRoadbook For Discovery, with your login and password. This free smartphone navigation app is available for Android and iOS devices, and will eliminate need of using separate GPS device.

    Before you head off on your trip, make sure you get the APP, download everything for offline use and check day by day steps with maps and overnight stops

    Fiore App works offline with easy navigation, voice guidand and information about the POI’s along the way.

  • Do we get printed or digital roadbook and maps? And when?

    Before the trip we will send you roadbook (turn by turn direction) in digital form. If you prefer to receive a printed version of the roadbook please let us know in advance and we will provide one copy during welcome meeting with Fiore representative on your arrival day or on the following day before you start your ride.

  • Do you have any luggage restrictions?

    We are not very strick with luggage restrictions but please limit your luggage to 2 pieces per person, one larger suitcase that weighs less then 25 kg and a smaller bag such as a backpack or a hand bag.

  • What about travel insurance?

    Our tours do not include travel insurance. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance with a good coverage. We also recommend a insurance in case of trip cancellation or interruption.

  • What about the navigation for the tour? Do we get assistance in case we get lost?

    Before the start of your trip we will send you instruction how to download Fiore App for easy and offline navigation with voice guidand and information about the POI’s. Before the tour you will receive roadbook in digital form. If you prefer to receive a printed version of the roadbook please let us know in advance and we will provide one copy on welcome meeting. Never happened that the clients get lost. But in case you get lost you can always contact us on our emergency number and send you location in Fiore App.

  • What should I bring on walking tour?

During the tour

  • Do you arrange welcome meeting with clients?

    Yes we do, mostly on arrival day or following day before the ride for the trips starting in Triest. We like to meet our guests in person in order to give the clients full information about the upcoming trip as well as bicycles and accessories. Generally it is scheduled at 19:00 / 7 p.m. for clients with independent arrival. In case you come with our organized transfer it can be rescheduled to fit the arrival to the first accommodation.

  • How does the luggage transfer work?

    On all tours, whether guided or self-guided, your luggage is transferred to your following night’s accommodation. Luggage transfer is mostly carried out by Fiore Tours, by sometimes we use also the accommodation provider or a local taxi service. Luggage needs to be ready at lobby at hotel until 9:00/9am in morning and transported to your next accommodation until 16:00/4pm. All details about local transfers and luggage transfers you will be informed at info meeting at your arrival day.

  • Will there be van support or shuttle included in the tour price?

    There is no support van following the group on self guided tours. But we can help and organize transportation for you, where additional costs will apply.

  • What should I do when I am too exhausted to continue or if it rains?

    If you are too exhausted to continue, or if it rains, you can contact us and we will be happy to organize transport for you to the next hotel where additional costs will apply. 

  • Can I ride with the luggage transfer service?

    If you have booked a self guided walking trip, you can ride with the luggage transfer service to your next hotel at no extra charge.

  • What do we do for lunches while hiking?

    Most of your accommodations will be more than happy to provide a packed lunch on request and this can be booked directly at each hotel. Another option is to buy some snacks at nearby shops.

    Alternatively, check in your APP to see about stopping at local shops to buy some snacks or lunch stops in local restaurants and caffes along on the way. 

  • Where can I do laundry on the route?

    Most of the hotel provide laundry service. Check your accommodation website to see what services may be available during your stay. If you are staying in a larger town, there will likely be laundry facilities as well.

  • Is the tap water safe to drink? Do you provide water bottle?

    We provide a water bottle to each participant free of charge. Bottles you will receive during welcome meeting with Fiore representative.

    Tap water is a better choice than bottled water. When filling the bidon, use tap water. When you need a refill on the way, look for a drinking fountain or ask at a café to have it filled with tap water. It’s free, does not come in a plastic container and, in most places, it is just as good or even better than bottled water. 

  • When can I check in?

    Check-in times are determined by the accommodation. Some may allow an early check-in where available, but generally, check-in will be from 15:00 / 3pm. If you’ll be late checking in, please contact the accommodation or us.

After the tour

  • Where can I leave review?

    We welcome feedback after the tour as it’s the best way to get better and improve our service. Once you have completed your trip with Fiore tours, you will receive an e-mail from us how and where to review your experience with Fiore tours.
